1. Data controller

This policy applies when you visit this website or book a Charter, and follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Maltese Data Protection Act (Chapter 586).
2. What we collect
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone) provided when you book or inquire;
- Booking details (boat, date, pickup point, number of guests, special requests);
- Payment information, handled directly by our booking and payment providers – we do not store full card numbers;
- Technical and usage data (IP address, device, pages viewed) via our web host;
- Any messages you send us.
3. Why we use it and legal bases
- To take and carry out your booking and contact you about it – performance of a contract;
- To meet accounting and legal obligations – legal obligation;
- To improve and secure the site and, where allowed, send you commercial messages – our legitimate interest or your consent;
- Marketing communications – your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Service providers and recipients
We share data only as needed with the service providers that operate our service on our behalf: our online booking and reservation platform, our payment service provider, our website hosting provider and our email service provider. Some providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU standard contractual clauses). We never sell your data. A current list of the specific processors we use is available on request.
5. Retention
We keep booking and contact data for the duration of our relationship and then for the periods required by law (for example, accounting records for 5 years). Marketing data is kept until you withdraw consent. Technical and analytics data is kept for 12 months.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, erase, restrict and port your data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, write to contact@west.navy. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC), the Maltese supervisory authority (idpc.org.mt).
7. Cookies
Our site uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the booking widget to function. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
